Finally, a Facelift

Hello friends!

There’s still a lot of snow outside, but temperatures are climbing, and everyone is slowly waking up here at Mel’s Exotics. Here’s hoping for a productive breeding season in 2026!

If you’ve kept up with my updates, you may know I’ve been trying to revamp this website for a while. ME has a new look, a stellar lineup of skinks, and… a website full of old information and broken links. But fear not, for I have enlisted the help of some heroes to help with the website!

Stepping up the task of rebuilding this site is Al Proulx. Having already helped me get the site running again, they’re already working hard and teaching me new things.

(Did you know people look at website on their phones now? They didn’t when I made this website… Sorry phone-users.)

Al will spend the next few months building me a shiny new website while also helping properly archive everything in an accessible way. The new website should make it easier for new-buyers to get the information they need, while fans who look deeper will find information on my critters dating back to my early years. Can you tell I’m excited about it?

Of course the new website will tie into our brand changes from the past few years, and so my friend Phynix Caskey from Fire & Ice Designs will once more be helping me with her artistic expertise.

My adorable Chibi-Pryce mascot is still my favourite piece from Phy, but her work on my entire brand look (logos, banners, business cards, merchandise, and more) has been phenomenal. It’s actually bothered me a lot that my website is so outdated it doesn’t feature much of the new branding, so I’m thrilled that this revamp lets us fix that.

With these two design professionals on my team I feel like there’s no challenge we can’t face (particularly website-challenges, those feel way easier now)! Our goal is to launch the new site this summer, hopefully before baby-season.

I hope you’ll come back to check out our new look.

Many thanks,
Mel
