Northern

Northerns are the most well-known pet BTS species in Canada. Known for being hardy and outgoing, they tend to make excellent companions to people of all ages. They are one of the larger subspecies of BTS and tend to be quite active, so an enclosure with a large footprint is ideal.

Northerns are known for their distinctive orange & black sides, however through selective breeding they actually come in a range of different colours. Mel’s Exotics specializes in breeding Northerns, and our collection includes bloodlines from many North American breeders.
