ME Births

MRBE this Weekend and a New Face

Hello friends! The past month has been pretty busy for me and for ME, and while we didn’t get any more Blue Tongue Skink babies after the first two litters, we did get one tiny new face who appeared… But first, this weekend, October 4-5, 2025, is the Manitoba Reptile Breeders Expo here in Manitoba! MRBE this Weekend and a New Face

First Litter of 2025!

I’m thrilled to announce that the first girl to give birth this year at ME is also the first skink who ever had babies for me <3 Evita (and dad Wasp) had 11 beautiful babies on July 18! Can you count all 11? And as of writing this the babies are ready to go to First Litter of 2025!

2020 Litter – Evita x Jenga

Another litter of babies to announce! On June 23 classic northern Evita had 12 adorable babies, fathered by caramel northern Jenga. This is a first time pairing for these two, so it should be interesting to see what dark Evita and pale Jenga have managed to produce. These babies are already a week and a 2020 Litter – Evita x Jenga

2020 Litter – Alice x Drooly

I am happy to announce that on May 28 my long-awaited Alice x Drooly litter was born! Mama Alice had 16 healthy babies, one runt (RIP unfortunately), and one slug. This litter is very exciting for me, as they are unrelated to any of my other skinks, and both parents are very pale/white coloured, unlike 2020 Litter – Alice x Drooly

2018 Babies – Part 1

Hello friends! You may have caught the subtle (and not-so-subtle) hints in my last update, but let’s make it official – there are babies here at Mel’s Exotics! So far of the eight or so females who bred, four have dropped litters 😀 And I couldn’t be happier to say that all the babies dropped 2018 Babies – Part 1

Houston, We Have Babies!

Babies so far in 2017 (with example photos): 15 Classic Northerns from two unrelated litters! 12 Irian Jayas from two related litters! There are still a few large girls here, but who knows if they’re actually pregnant or just being fatties. Unfortunately all of my Meraukes slugged out this year, so this year will only Houston, We Have Babies!

Fluke Babies 2014!

Yesterday, July 29, Fluke gave birth to 13 healthy and beautiful baby blueys! As such I am delighted to say I will have more than enough babies available for everyone on the waitlist this year 😀 Fluke is a classic northern. The father of these babies, Jenga, is a caramel northern. It’s hard to tell Fluke Babies 2014!

Hello World

Classic Northern Babies!

Hank the classic northern gave birth to 6 adorable little babies! All the current babies are approaching their first shed. As they finish shedding I’ll take better pictures of each one and post them on the available page. At that time I will post an update on the main page and then begin accepting reservations. Classic Northern Babies!

Caramel Northern Babies!

I am ecstatic to announce that Trouble, my caramel northern female, gave birth to 15 adorable babies yesterday (June 20)! These are the first caramel northerns born in Canada! The caramel line originated in the USA from line-breeding done by the amazing James Wilson. My caramel female is directly from his wonderful line. The proud Caramel Northern Babies!
