The 2022 Lineup – Meet the Girls

So far the 2022 breeding season has been very busy here, and we have 9 lovely skink ladies who’ll hopefully give us some incredible babies in the coming months. No one is showing much just yet, but we’re starting to see behaviour changes like eating less and basking more. Keep your fingers crossed that everyone The 2022 Lineup – Meet the Girls

June Pride 2020

Welcome to Pride Month 2020. Myself and many of my friends and family members are part of the LGBTQ+ community, and supporting other queer folks is important to me. While I have mostly spent this month focused on the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement, my sister and I took the opportunity during the Alice-baby photoshoot June Pride 2020

2018 Spring Photoshoot

Hello friends! The long cold has broken and spring is here! (Yes, it’s still spring for a few more days). I’m sorry for the big gap in posts, but I do still exist and I am still breeding blue tongue skinks. I’ll post more about the 2018 breeding season shortly, but for now I wanted 2018 Spring Photoshoot

J-Litter Pictures

Mel’s Exotics is working on a few things right now, including some new additions and even a move to a commercial space 😀 Busy times! For now, all the babies in the J-litter have now finished shedding, and I’ve taken much better photos of each one. I still plan to take some outdoor photos, but J-Litter Pictures

Fluke Babies Have Names

The Fluke x Jenga babies are now two weeks old, and have officially received their ID names. I also took photos of each of them, but since most are in shed the photos are pretty awful. I’ll give the babies a bath to clear the shed and get some new photos up ASAP so people Fluke Babies Have Names

Fluke Babies 2014!

Yesterday, July 29, Fluke gave birth to 13 healthy and beautiful baby blueys! As such I am delighted to say I will have more than enough babies available for everyone on the waitlist this year 😀 Fluke is a classic northern. The father of these babies, Jenga, is a caramel northern. It’s hard to tell Fluke Babies 2014!

Evita Babies Outside

Almost all the babies have shed now (Wade has not, Wilhelm has shed patches), so I took some better photos outdoors. The sun didn’t co-operate until the end, but at least you can see the pretty colours of these babies 🙂 There are more photos to look at here: http://melsexotics.com/2014-evita-x-wasp-babies/ Waldo outside: Walker outside: Waylon Evita Babies Outside

Evita x Wasp Babies Have Names

Naturally, because I wanted to do ID pictures today, yesterday the babies started going into shed. I think this happens every year… Regardless, I did give all the babies their official IDs, and took several pictures of each. Twelve of the babies are now considered available (Wade, the runt, is not). I’ll start e-mailing those Evita x Wasp Babies Have Names

Summer 2014 Pictures!

I finally got around to taking some new outdoor photos of many of my skinks. Outdoor photos look so much better 😀 In getting these photos I was bitten once (Taz), pooped on once (Taz), and had to race across the lawn to catch runaways many times, lol. I think the pictures were worth it Summer 2014 Pictures!

Happy New Years!

It’s officially 2014 now, which means ME is looking forward to an amazing year ahead. 2013 was a hard year for me, but it was my amazing customers who made all the work worthwhile. I cannot say how much I love to see photos and hear updates on my babies. I have the best customers; Happy New Years!
