Hello friends! The past month has been pretty busy for me and for ME, and while we didn’t get any more Blue Tongue Skink babies after the first two litters, we did get one tiny new face who appeared…
But first, this weekend, October 4-5, 2025, is the Manitoba Reptile Breeders Expo here in Manitoba! Mel’s Exotics will be at the expo with all of our 2025 babies, so if you’re in the area please come check us out!
In a personal update, I started a new job 🙂 It’s a very exciting step in my building design career and it’s been a great experience so far. Unfortunately, I also got sick recently, so between that and trying to juggle all the recent events, I’ve been really bad about answering my emails. I’m so sorry. I’m spending today going through my backlog, so if you’ve sent me an email please expect a reply soon.
Oh, I also updated my available babies from the two 2025 litters born here. As of this moment, the availability is up to date. I’m sure that will change as I go through my emails. I’ll try to keep it up. And of course this weekend I’ll take any remaining babies to hopefully find homes there, so then the website will be very out of date. If there’s a particular baby you really like, email me at contact@melsexotics.ca to reserve it.
And of course, speaking of babies, I won’t leave you hanging any more. On September 12, 2025 this little un-named cutie came into our lives, and we’re all completely in love:
This “little” Monkey Tail Skink was born in my family colony, to parents Gaga and Al. So far baby is doing really well, and Gaga is being an amazing mom. We’re mostly leaving the family alone aside from offering food, but I’ll be sure to post updates on this baby, older sibling Dolly, and the whole family over the next while 🙂
