Two More New Faces!

Once again, I am please to introduce new critters to my friends here 😀 I couldn’t be more excited to finally be getting into a project that’s been years in the planning. As usual, I’m too excited to wait until these two have names and better photos, so for now:

For those who can’t tell (probably most, since these amels look so odd compared to the normal form) these two are pretty African Fat Tail ladies. These two are just the start of an AFT collection that’s about to take off 😀 I am so bouncy now! I’ll be sure to post tons of photos when my AFT group grows again. Shouldn’t be long now…

I am so happy to introduce two new faces to the ME collection. These two stunning babies hail from John Delahaye in Ontario. I feel very privileged to have been able to trade for these absolutely adorable babies, and I look forward to seeing them grow up.

Introducing…

I have two skinks here right now that deserve a proper introduction.

First off is a new face who popped up in IJ Izuru’s tank on the 25th. Grandma Luce was given the choice and named this cutie Ivy:

Ivy was born quite large (about the same size as my 1m/o Northerns!) and has already shed. She was also born with her umbilical cord still attached. I cut the cord for her, and the attached bit has now fallen off.

She’s a bit of a spaz, but she’s calming down and is unbearably cute <3

The second introduction already has some pictures on the website, but deserves an update. Baby L went to a new home a year ago, but recently came back to me. She (I believe) is a 2011 Evita x Wasp baby. I am on the lookout for a new home for her. I took some photos, but she’s getting ready to shed:

New Tank for Monkey Tail Skinks

I just purchased a brand new fancy tank for my Monkey Tail Skinks. I haven’t made them a page yet, but I’m working on it (seems like one or the other is always shedding).

Info:
-The MTS are Betty (shedding) and Veronica (fatty), both believed to be females between the ages of 5-10. I need to find a male for them.
-The tank is Reptology brand, 39Lx19Wx39H. It comes with a stand.
-I have a Ceramic Heater top left, daylight in the middle, an automatic mister and a new small fountain (bottom left) installed (moving water for drinking, small so they don’t poop in it). I still have to install the UTH (I forgot during setup XD).
-There is a large water dish for soaking/pooping, lots of driftwood for climbing and resting, live lucky bamboo for fun, fake plants for cover, fabric for background, coco-mulch for bedding and skinks because why else would I have the tank.
-I still need to figure out food dishes. Right now I’m just putting the food on the ground, but I’m trying to rig up something elevated.
-I’m considering adding Crested Geckos and Giant Millipedes to the tank in the future.

Breeder Weigh-In

As of the beginning of May:
– Evita is 21 inches long and weighs 628g.
– Fluke is 17 inches long and weighs 452g.
– Hank is 21 inches long and weighs 656g.
– Izuru is 17 inches long and weighs 545g.
– Trouble is 18.5 inches long and weighs 504g.
– Wocket is 16.5 inches long and weighs 454g.

I’ll weigh them again every couple of weeks to see if there’s any major weight gains. Keep in mind that even skinks who don’t gain weight may pop out babies. It’s the way of the skink.
